Hello from a very quiet hotel room in the beautiful city of Prague!
I’m currently sitting here, having just enjoyed a nice rest, and I am leaning into the quietude for a change. Since waking up, I’ve been working through the day, dedicating this time to the things I’ve been so keen to finish—like this website and being able to speak to you directly through this blog. While I’ll soon be getting ready to enjoy the rest of the night, my priority right now is right here: building the foundation for ZVARĀ Wellness.
Last night was the first night of the Brazilian Zouk Prague Marathon, and I was on the dance floor from 9:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. While five hours of dancing might sound like a lot, in the world of dance marathons, it’s just the warm-up!
I’ve travelled here to give myself some essential self-care—space away from the beautiful chaos of family life, the kids, and the routine of my 9-to-5. And while I’m here, I’ll be honest: I miss my wee one. But I also know that taking this time is a way of honouring my own needs, and that is where the magic begins.
The Courage to Choose You
I want to emphasise this to you: You are important. Taking time out for yourself is a necessity, not a luxury. Of course, that doesn’t always mean flying to a different city—I rarely do this myself! Most of the time, "taking time out" means having the courage to claim just a few minutes for yourself right where you are.
It takes real courage to say "I matter" in the middle of a busy life. Whether it’s a weekend away or just five minutes of breathing in a quiet corner, giving yourself that space is what allows you to show up fully for everyone else. When we nourish ourselves, we aren't just surviving; we are learning to thrive.
Real Talk: Behind the Mat
I want to use this blog to be completely real with you. On social media, it’s so easy to portray the life of a yoga teacher as perfectly balanced and serene. But the reality is that I feel the physical toll just like anyone else.
Even with my training, having a job where I’m sitting a lot lately has made me feel stiff and sore. There are days where I have to turn to my own practices—Yin, Qi Gong, or sound—just to get back into my own body and feel human again. I’m not coming to you from a place of "perfection"; I’m coming to you as someone who is constantly using these tools to navigate the same daily stresses you face.
Building a Community of Connection
Launching ZVARĀ Wellness hasn't been as simple as just turning up to teach. Behind the scenes, I’ve been deep in the "hustle"—developing marketing tools and realising a vision, all while being a mum, a householder, and working a full-time job.
Whether you are managing a home with a partner, navigating life as a single parent, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the endless list of household responsibilities, I know how much strain it can cause. It’s a lot to fit in. I’m building this community for women who are in that same boat—who live in "silos" and need a space to reconnect. We were never meant to carry the weight of it all alone.
Consistency Over Complexity
One thing I really want to encourage in this community is consistency in self-care. My goal is to inspire you to implement small, manageable shifts that fit into your actual life, such as:
• Getting out of bed five minutes early to breathe before the day takes over.
• Taking two minutes in the middle of a difficult situation to calm your nervous system.
• Setting aside a tiny window at the end of the day to decompress and let go.
You can adapt these into just two to five minutes of your day. If you are consistent, those few minutes can create incredible, lasting change.
Join the Journey
I hope that you really enjoy what I’m creating here. This is something I’m so passionate about, and I hope it’s a community you’ll want to be a part of as we grow. Please reach out, engage, and share your thoughts—I’m available to answer your questions and help you find what works for you.
Keep an eye on your inbox for upcoming dates, and let’s start building that resilience together.
Now, back to the dance floor…
From my quiet corner to yours,
Lokeshvarii
