About
Kundalini Yoga: The Yoga of Awareness
Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic practice rooted in ancient Indian tradition, designed to awaken the "Kundalini" energy—the dormant potential at the base of the spine. Unlike more physically focused styles, it combines rhythmic movements called Kriyas, powerful Pranayama (breathwork like Breath of Fire), and Mantras to shift your internal state. It was brought to the West in the late 1960s as a "secret science" made accessible for everyday people to manage the stresses of modern life.
The primary purpose of the practice is to strengthen the nervous system, balance the glandular system, and clear the subconscious mind. By unblocking energy channels, it helps you build mental resilience and connect more deeply with your intuition.
Each session at ZVARĀ is an invitation to move beyond physical exercise into a state of expanded consciousness, leaving you feeling balanced, energised, and profoundly clear.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative practice that targets the body’s deepest connective tissues—the fascia, ligaments, and joints. Unlike more active "Yang" styles that focus on muscles, Yin involves holding floor-based postures for longer periods, typically three to five minutes. This stillness encourages the body to release deep-seated tension and improves overall flexibility and joint mobility.
The practice is deeply rooted in Taoist philosophy and the concept of "yielding." By staying still and breathing through the discomfort of a long hold, you train your nervous system to remain calm under stress. It is a powerful tool for mindfulness, allowing you to turn your focus inward and cultivate a sense of peace while balancing the energetic flow of the body's meridians.
At ZVARĀ, Yin serves as the perfect antidote to a busy, fast-paced life. It provides a quiet space to slow down, nourish your joints, and restore your internal energy. Whether you are looking to supplement a high-intensity workout or simply need a moment of profound stillness, Yin Yoga offers a grounding experience that leaves you feeling deeply relaxed and renewed.
Yin Yoga: Melting into Stillness
Qigong: Meditation in motion
Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing art that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intention. Often described as "meditation in motion," it is designed to cultivate and balance Qi (life force energy). The movements are typically gentle, fluid, and circular, making it an accessible practice for all ages and physical abilities to promote longevity and vitality.
The purpose of Qigong is to harmonise the mind, body, and breath to improve the flow of energy throughout the body's pathways. By synchronising slow movements with deep abdominal breathing, the practice reduces stress, boosts the immune system, and enhances mental clarity. It is less about "working out" and more about "working in" to build internal strength and emotional stability.
Practising Qigong at ZVARĀ helps you tap into your body's natural healing intelligence. It is a rhythmic, graceful experience that clears energetic blockages and fosters a deep connection to the present moment. By the end of a session, you can expect to feel a unique sense of "effortless power"—a state where you are both relaxed and fully alert.
Who is Lokeshvarii
My path to you
Hi, I’m Lokeshvarii — a yogini and wellness coach, passionate about health and wellbeing and empowering people to make changes that support the way they live their lives.
My approach is shaped by both personal practice and professional experience. I worked for 16 years across pharmacy and medical devices and now work within the NHS, supporting staff wellbeing. I also hold an MSc in Health Psychology, which continues to inform how I support stress, recovery, and sustainable change.
Yoga and dance have been lifelong companions for me - with over 20 years on the mat and learning various dance styles - from salsa and bachata to now Brazilian Zouk! What I learned is that the body is so intelligent and tells us everything we need and if we just slow down and listen, it can unlock so many benefits! Connection to your body - your movement, your breath is what brings us down from an imbalanced, stressed out, unable to cope state.
I believe learning constantly keeps the mind agile and the body flexible, able to bounce back from challenges. My yoga training began with Kundalini Yoga (200h Level 1) in 2011 (with additional Level 2 modules), Hatha (200h Rajadhiraja) in 2016, Yin Yoga (100h) during Covid in 2021, as well as prenatal (50h) and forest‑inspired yoga (35h), and I’m currently training in Qigong. My work brings together movement, mindful breathing, deep relaxation including sound (gong) to help people slow down, reset, and restore balance.
I offer a 6‑week programme, alongside seasonal workshops,
designed to help you build consistency and explore simple, powerful practices that support calm, balance, and resilience in everyday life.
